smitten.
So, the interview.
My wonderful father picked me up from uni (yes, I went in for class cause I thought we HAD to but it turned out 3 other girls didn't even turn up either and I saw them at the interview later anyway! PSHH. Glad I went in though.. nom nom lunch :) ) and we drove down to Austin together. Got there at like, 2.30ish? and the interview was at 3, so we sat in the car and talked (more like he quizzed me about my significant other and then Janey called me. Loves XD).
Quarter to, I decided I had wasted enough of my daddy's precious time (he's redoing our floors.. of which I intend to help him with tomorrow cause I am like the son he never had :P), I headed through the doors of Austin Hospital and up the lift to Level 4.There were a few kids already waiting and I struck up a conversation with this girl from Latrobe, and we together waited nervously. A few girls from the previous interview came out and wished us luck.. and told us it was easy. Didn't quite calm the nerves down that much though. Told us to think of something interesting. Couldn't. Smsed my favourite people. Felt better.
Finally, we were called in. We had name-tag stickers on the seats and she explained things about contracts and awards and all that jazz. Nodded intently. Smiled. Sat upright. We were then split into groups for case scenarios. Fun. Pt 24 hours post-op of laproscopic procedure, on PCA and found cynontic with less than 4 resp rates. What to do? Pt with abdo pain. Analgesia? I helped scribe, but was brain freeze and didn't talk much. We then had to present our cases. Public speaking, oh yes. Went okay, but was kindy fidgety and I said and whatever. Am so like teenager. And then it was done!
The one thing interesting about Austin though, was that they gave ~personal feedback~ on how you went in the interview. So after, we waiting around to get our personal feedback. SO helpful for the next few interviews. They're so nice that they want to help us be better for other hospitals! I thought so anyway.

My feedback:
Thought my teamwork skillz were great, cause I scribed and let others scribe and organised the group in it's discussion. However, didn't get my ideas through enough.. let others overpower me in that sense. Agreed with that. Totally brain freezed.
My CV/ Clinical appraisals/ References all good. My references gave positive remarks and said I worked hard and was good (can't remember the exact words..)
She said I would def get a graduate position somewhere (YAY BEST), and maybe even with us. Not sure what that means, but I hope it's good!
She also commented that my presentation was good, that my outfit was nice :) Then i commented that my hair was icky from running up the road before and she said that if they judged us from our hair, then she wouldn't even get a job. We laughed.
Then she had a look at my CV and said and you live local too! Then I told her that my church was just across the road. She joked that I knew where all the best coffee was. Cafe matto? Totes right? More laughter (Y)
