Note to self: do not prank a drunk 19 year old guy who is known to own 100 knives in his bedroom with the advice of 16 year old girls nor answer no numbered phonecalls thinking they might be a job interview at 1am in the morning when you've been to bed at 11pm!

Another note to self: Saying mate a lot makes you sound more white on the phone as to hide the fact that you're Asian which will further thus lower the risk of getting stabbed 100 times by said boy resembling a sesame street character.

Never again. I can't lie under pressure mate! END CALL END CALL!!

lindt cafe.

So I'm at uni and I have 51 minutes to spare til my 6-8pm class where I get to learn how to be a mother (yes, learning how to use cloth nappies and how to bathe babies.. I think I'm going to love paediatrics!). Logically, to pass time, I am currently in the library fb stalking and here.. blogging :)

It's currently raining outside and I have a lovely view of Victoria Parade.. wait, I'll give you guys a picture *takes a photos with applee*

Nice right? Chillaxin' to some Brooke Fraser Ligertwood and wanting to sing along..

We can do what we wanna
'Cos today the world is ours
Nothing gray, just real time and colour
In which to whittle away the hours

We could speak 'til nothing's left unspoken
We could drive 'til we've run out of road
We could drink 'til we've emptied the ocean
But I'd be happy here

'Til the suns and planets disappear
Even if that means infinity through
If being producttive is being with you

We could fall 'til gravity gets tired
But I'm just happy here
Happy staying beside you

..And feeling very contented from the combined consumption of 4 sushi burgers, udon noodles and yes, the amazing Lindt cafe on Collins St. Excellence macroons.. and pleasant Adelaidians here for a conference and taking photos of food to show their children.

There's now 25 minutes to go and my secret stalking of the Tiffany Goh has been discovered. OH NOES. Do not like this new application on facebook. EXPOSED.

This blog doesn't really make sense. Sorry. I actually came on to post my interview times, for all to see. And all to pray and interceed for my future. LOL :) No really, do it. Please. So here they are.

Interview times

Austin Health 4th August 3pm
Eastern Health (Box Hill Campus) 7th August 9am
St V&Mercy Private 12th August 10am

..and waiting on a reply from epworth. BUT haven't got a rejection letter yet, so there's hope for a clean sweep :)

So, I'm really happy. REALLY.

.. and I should go. 9 minutes. Tata :)

perfect for you

I'm blogging cause Jason told me too.

So life.

University.
It's the night before the first day of the last semester of university, ever....and I'm not really phased at the moment. I'm normally very sentimental about these things, but after the past 2 months of placements and job applications and all that jazz, I'm ready to do this! I think I've got to the point where I'm ready to leave all this behind and start growing up. I chose nursing because it was the kind of person I wanted to become.. and now that's I'm on the brink of being that person, I just want to jump in and do it, you know? Also, I'm pretty excited to see my lovely ACUians :) Although I've only been a part of this group for the past year or so, I love them D: Though we really need a good catching up! Back to the future? YES?

Graduate applications. Signed, Sealed, Delievered.. I'm yours! :) After a lot of drama and stress, I finally decided on St V's Private, Austin, Eastern Health Bochiu and Epworth Bochiu. Since the start of second year I've wanted St V's, and so it was the first application I put in.. and within 24 hours (like 18 hours) I got a call for an interview! 12th August :) I was seriously so psyched and jumping around the house like crazy for 2 hours. I'm still waiting on a call from the other three though. I've done all I can possibly do now and so I'm putting it all in God's hands, cause his plans are perfect.

Church. What to say? I love these people. They make my life. I love my family :) Happy 8th anniversary BOL! I love that I can hang out with middle-aged uncles and have amazing conversations about life. I love that I can crazy dance at church from the back and people smile at me, instead of looking at me strangely. I love that we always have food and food abundantly. I love that these people are so talented and we have amazing worship like the service we had today. I love the incredible sense of joy and celebration as we reach eight years. I love that my best friends are four years younger and older than me. I love my weekends. I love that although it gets so tiring, there is no other place I would rather be than to be in the house of the Lord. I love that I can count on you guys to perservere through and win the crown of gold, together :)

.. and to some lovely people who make my life. srsly, you guys get too many tributes on my blog.. but whatev. this is what you get for the numerous smss and all the lovely weekends we spend together. i wouldn't have it any other way :)

(yes, pheebs you get the biggest picture cause i know you love your own face :))

----

and cause the title says so, my favourite song from next to normal

HENRY
Perfect for you
I will be perfect for you
So you could go crazy
Or I could go crazy, it's true
Sometimes life isn't sane
But crazy I know I can do
Cause crazy is perfect
And __ed up is perfect
So I will be perfect

NATALIE
Perfect

BOTH
Perfect for you

-- cause perfect isn't about being a perfect person, or being that perfect person for someone, or even being 'the one' , but acknowledging weakness and flaws and still being willing to try, to work at and committing to being there for that someone.

apple tarte tartin

Ingredients (serves 4)

  • 80g butter, melted
  • 1 sheet butter puff pastry, thawed
  • 2 small Golden Delicious apples, cored, halved, sliced
  • 160g (2/3 cup) caster sugar
  • 250ml (1 cup) thin cream/ milk/ ice-cream
  • Golden Kiwi fruit/ Almonds/ Chocolate sause/ whatever you want for garnishing

Method

  1. Preheat oven to 250°C. Position a rack on the top shelf in the oven. Brush four 250ml ramekins with a little melted butter to grease. Use the base of one of the ramekins as a guide to cut out 4 discs from the pastry. Place discs on a plate and place in the fridge until required.
  2. Put in How to lose a guy in 10 days in the dvd player and press play, allow the intro credits to run as you prepare the apples.
  3. Place an apple half, cut-side up, in the base of each ramekin. (Or arrange sliced pieces to cover the base of the ramekin) Sprinkle 2 tbs of the sugar over each apple and drizzle each with 1 tbs of the remaining melted butter.
  4. Place the ramekins on a baking tray and bake in preheated oven for 15 minutes or until bubbling and the sugar begins to caramelise. Put the timer on and return to the beginning of How to lose a guy, by now, they should be on their first date.
  5. When the scene of the Nicks game is over, it should be time to remove the ramekins from oven. Reduce oven temperature to 230°C.
  6. Place a disc of puff pastry over each ramekin. Use a spoon to press the pastry down over the apple to completely cover. Return to oven and bake, for a further 6-7 minutes or until the pastry is crisp and golden.
  7. Return to more Matthew McConaughey goodness. Check regulary for golden brown texture.
  8. Remove the ramekins from oven and turn the apple tarte tatins out onto serving plates. Drizzle with any caramel in ramekins. Add a dollop of cream/ add garnishings and plate as you wish. Serve immediately. Take photos to blog and post on facebook.

amazing.

the amazing grace
winter camp 2009

amazing.
untamed.
applied.
empowered.
revolutionary.

(will try to get the podcasts out asap, need to ask joyo)

even though i wasn't there for half of it, it was truly amazing.
i think the highlight would definately be the amazing job my beloved leaders did with the sermons! top class, an outside speaker couldn't have done it better. each message was 'heaven-sent' , to use a term coined from last year. (although i missed pheeb's alter call, sadface)

the janey and pheebs superpower red combined chewing gum lollipop session with no inside jokes

the crazy dancing praise session with lights out and flashes and jumpin and mexican waves

the worship sessions including more dancing, by well reowned dancer, jem goh.

late night indomie sessions and more indomie stirrings for breakfast

copious number of photos of ida, because she's beautiful with a double L.

a lot of soccer.. but what's new? :P love it though. and the news of the jonteown.

and unpro photos that aren't are glorious as my model photo that i will no upload here :P

and grace. (rene smith goh)
i'm not sure if we totally got the message across though, because it it such an amazing concept to grasp. unmerited. unearned favour. salvation. i'm living it.
